The East Van German School provides German Language education for up to 16 children at a time. Currently the children who attend are in grades K – 3. Usually classes are held in the basement of St. Mark’s Lutheran church in East Vancouver on Thursdays from 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM. However because of COVID-19 classes are taught online for now.
On behalf of our teachers and staff, we welcome you to the East Vancouver German Language School (EVGS)!
The EVGS offers a thorough German language and cultural education in a relaxed and caring environment for children ages 5 and up.
We strive to provide students with learning opportunities in which they learn, practise and gain a deep appreciation for German culture and language.
We hope you will join our school community!
It is mandatory that all students have a basic level of understanding and speaking German when they join our school.
The students are participating in a program that is challenging, active and fun. We work together with the whole group or in split classes but also on an individual basis when necessary.
The younger students enrich their vocabulary through play and learn first grammatical structures through different theme based activities while the older students are gradually introduced to reading and writing in German.
Fees are set by the Board of the East Van German School Society and are subject to change. Please find more information in the form below.
Classes are taking place from mid-September to mid-June (no classes during winter and spring break).
We reserve the right to cancel the classes e.g. due to insufficient enrolment prior to the start of the year. In that case, all fees will be reimbursed. In the event East Van German School Society has to cancel the continuation of the classes during the school year, prorated fees will be reimbursed, based on the number of calendar months remaining.
Please use the form below to sign up and email it to us. We will contact you shortly.
